Enable telnet in Windows 7

It’s not often that you use telnet, but sometimes it’s an easy way to see if you can connect to a computer.
In Windows 7 (and Vista), telnet is disabled as default due to the security risks, but here is a quick guide on how to enable it!

  • Go to start.
  • Control Panel
  • Programs and features
  • Turn Windows features on or off
  • Check Telnet Client
  • Hit OK

Now you are ready to start telnet from your cmd!
